Collection and Use of Information
PRA never collects personal information from users browsing its website. Users to the public areas of the Site browse anonymously. Only aggregate data, such as the number of hits per page, are collected. Aggregate data is only used for internal and marketing purposes and does not provide any personally identifying information.
Contact and Profile Information
PRA is the sole owner of the information collected on the Site. During the registration process, the Site collects personal information such as your name, address, phone number, and email address. Demographic data (e.g., job title, designation, and discipline) may also be collected. PRA uses such data to improve marketing and promotional efforts, to statistically analyze site usage, to improve our content and product offerings, and to customize the content, layout, and services of the Site.
Information collected by PRA is used only to better serve its members and customers and may be used in the following ways:
- Reply to requests and/or send requested materials
- Permit access to some areas of the Site that require contact and other information
- Get in touch with you regarding the status of your membership, registration, or any orders that have been placed
- Contact you regarding additional services, features, or to request feedback about your experience with PRA
PRA does not collect personally identifying information about users except when it is knowingly and voluntarily provided. This information may be shared with advertisers or other third parties solely on an aggregated basis. PRA will not share any personally identifying information with any third party without your consent, except to a court or government agency as required by law.
PRA makes member contact information available through its Membership Directory, as well as other subgroups of membership, accessible through the Site. On occasion, PRA or its agents may provide limited data to third parties that offer products and services. This limited data includes names, job titles, business names and addresses, but does not include business or personal phone numbers, fax numbers or email addresses. Users may request PRA refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties on the membership application form, conference registration form or any other form on which they are providing information. Alternatively, users may contact PRA if they do not wish to have their contact information shared.
Member Access and Information
PRA members are asked to provide their email address and password to gain access to members-only resources on the Site. This information is then cross-referenced with PRA’s membership database to confirm active membership status.
PRA uses secured encryption via third party vendors to collect financial information, including credit card numbers, in order to process transactions. PRA does not store sensitive information such as credit card numbers or passwords. In the event that your order must be processed, fulfilled, or serviced by third parties other than PRA, you agree and acknowledge that in order to process, fulfill, or service your order you expressly consent to our sharing your information with any necessary third parties. PRA does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers except to submit information necessary to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
Use of “Cookies” or “Remember Me”
All information provided to PRA is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of PRA. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
PRA provides users with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at any time. By managing your email opt-out list you can make sure that you only receive the messages that are important to you. PRA gives users the following options for managing their email opt-out selections:
- Click on the “Unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of your email and follow the instructions on the web page
- Login to the Site and access your profile through the My Information tab and select Email Opt Out at the bottom of the page
PRA gives you the following options for changing and modifying information previously provided. Upon your request, we will also remove any other personally identifying information we may retain from our databases. To make any such changes or requests:
- Login to the Site and update your profile through the My Information tab by the selecting Edit/View Information option
- Email your request
You may also choose to not have your information shared as part of the Membership Directory by selecting Do Not Publish Info Online in the Edit/View Information screen.
Tell-A-Friend & Email this Page Services
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend or colleague about our Site, we ask them for the friend’s name and email address. PRA will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Site. We do not store the information of the person you sent it to. The only way that information is if they take some sort of action on the Site.
We may conduct occasional online surveys via the Site, or through an email message. These surveys are entirely voluntary and you may decline to participate. Participation in an online survey does not automatically add your name to the subscriber list for PRA emails.
