Privacy and Website Policies: Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association & Psychiatric Rehabilitation Foundation

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (PRA) and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Foundation (PRF); two tax-exempt organizations operating in concert with one another to broadly serve the field of psychiatric rehabilitation.  PRA is a 501(c)6 membership organization dedicated to advocating for and growing the psychiatric rehabilitation workforce.  PRF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting wellness and recovery through research, education, and training.  Both maintain a website at www.psychrehabassociation.org.  PRA's chapters and affiliates, which operate their own web presence and legal entity, are referenced by and linked to the PRA website.

We are strongly committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of its members and other visitors to our site. This Privacy Policy was created to explain why we collect particular information, and to assure you that your personal information will be treated responsibly and appropriately. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the website located at the URL www.psychrehabassociation.org and any other sites (collectively, the "Site") provided by PRA and PRF (hereinafter referred to as "We" or "Us").

We do not engage in the treatment of clients or the practice of medicine, and are not a clinical authority.  In all cases, we recommend that current or prospective consumers of Psychiatric Rehabilitation services consult their personal service providers/practitioners regarding any course of treatment or medication, or specific information or advice. Our commentary is informed by professional advice, published experience, and expert opinion, but does not represent therapeutic recommendation or prescription.  

PRF receives contributions from corporations and foundations who support our work. We gratefully accept these contributions with the clear understanding that we retain full responsibility for, and control of, the shape and substance of our programs and activities, including editorial rights and health messages of all of the content of this site. Our supporters do not in any way dictate the content of our site.

How We Use and Share the Information We Collect

California and Delaware law require us to indicate whether it honors “Do Not Track” settings in your browser concerning targeted advertising. We adhere to the standards set out in this Privacy Policy and does not monitor or follow any Do Not Track browser requests.

If you are visiting the Site, or any part thereof, from outside of the United States of America, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored or processed in the United States, where our servers are located and our central database is operated. Content Development Policy

A team of writers, staff, and volunteers (the/our "Team") create the content for our Site and printed publications. As much as possible, the Team pulls from scientific reference materials and provides objective, evidence-based content. At times, when evidence is lacking, we reach out to experts in the field for anecdotal evidence based on clinical and research experience. In addition, anecdotal evidence from patients may be included. Our Team follows editorial policies including peer review by writers with an expertise in psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery. We make every effort to confirm the foundation of anecdotal evidence, asking members of the PRA Board of Directors, PRF Board of Directors, and/or Academy Leadership to review content, as needed.
