The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (PRA) is a leader in celebrating and honoring outstanding individuals who have made a significant contribution to the psychiatric rehabilitation field. The Awards of Distinction provide the opportunity for the psychiatric rehabilitation community to recognize industry leaders at the 2016 Recovery Workforce Summit in Boston, MA. We encourage you to review the award criteria and submit a nomination for a deserving colleague today. Deadline is Friday, April 1, 2016

Submit a Nomination for the Following Awards:

  • Isaiah Uliss Advocate Award: Presented to an individual who is or has been in recovery from a psychiatric disorder, whose leadership is exemplary in the advocacy for, operation of, and/or sustaining of community programs and supports.
  • John Beard Award: Presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of psychiatric rehabilitation.
  • Irvin Rutman Award: Presented to an executive director of a psychiatric program who has demonstrated leadership in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation, as well as in promoting the mission of PRA.
  • Armin Loeb Award: Presented to an individual who has conducted the best-designed and most useful research in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation in the preceeding year or years.
  • Carol T. Mowbray Early Career Research Award: Presented to an individual who has independently conducted research addressing an issue of importance to psychiatric rehabilitation practice or policy, in collaboration with a psychiatric rehabilitation agency or organization.
  • LeRoy Spaniol Educator Award: Presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions toward educating and mentoring a new generation of leaders.
  • Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner Award: Presented to an individual who is a direct service provider (i.e., case manager, employment specialist, etc.) and has demonstrated dedication and excellence in providing psychiatric rehabilitation services.
  • Multicultural Award: Presented to a researcher or practitioner that demonstrates and advocates for cultural competence.

Nomination Requirements:
To ensure your nomination is processed, the following materials must be emailed or faxed to 703.506.3266 by Friday, April 1, 2016.

  • Nomination Form
  • 1,000 words or less nomination letter detailing reasons for the nomination
  • CV required for the Armin Loeb Award and the Carol J. Mowbray Early Career Research Award
  • Irvin Rutman Award requires Organizational Membership
  • Membership is strongly preferred for all other awards
