Volunteer Opportunities

The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (PRA) and the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Foundation (PRF) are dedicated to promoting wellness and supporting psychiatric rehabilitation professionals. PRA and PRF provide resources and opportunities to the recovery workforce through research, education, scholarships, grants, and public outreach. Right now, we are accepting applications for volunteer positions. Join us in our mission to support recovery!

Board Positions

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (PRA) Board of Directors - PRA is a nonprofit organization focused on growing, training, certifying, and supporting the recovery workforce. PRA Board Membership requires regular attendance of BOD meetings and participation in other volunteer task forces and sub-committees. Members should expect to provide 4 - 5 hours per month.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Foundation (PRF) Board of Directors - The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Foundation works to ensure that psychiatric rehabilitation professionals are at the forefront with innovative solutions to manage the challenges and opportunities of the future, extending the impact of their work. Members should expect to provide 4 - 5 hours per month. PRF Board Membership requires regular attendance of BOD meetings as well as possible participation in other volunteer task forces and sub-committees, including:

• Continuing Education Policy Development
• Application Review and Registry of Continuing Education Providers
• Development and Approval of Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Certification Commission

The Certification Commission for Psychiatric Rehabilitation is the standard-setting body for PRA’s credentialing programs, providing the governance, coordination, planning, and operation of the certification process, including:

• Examination Policy
• Professional Standards
• Candidate Eligibility / Application Review
• Recertification Application Review

Examination Development Committee 

As a sub-committee of the Commission, this group works on exam content, including:

• Item Writing for Exams
• Item Referencing
• Item / Examination Review

Online Course Development Committee 

As a sub-committee of the PRF, this group works on expanding training opportunities through:

• Development of Training Content
• Review of Training Content
