TED-Like Talks

Life is stressful!  Effectively supporting others through periods of high distress can mean the difference between increasing resiliency and sliding into a crisis.  This workshop highlights the factors that can engender strong emotions and increase frustration in common behavioral healthcare settings.  Participants will evaluate the work setting and create solutions to reduce or eliminate these factors in working with people.  Gain additional skills for helping people navigate the rough waters of life, including identifying micro-aggressions, personal triggers, and using LEAP (Listen, Empathize, Agree and Partner) - a specific communication tool for creating greater understanding and better outcomes in distressing times.
