Promoting Positive Family Engagement to Improve Educational and Employment Outcomes for Transitional Age Youth

You are here

Monday, June 26 / 8:30 am to 10:00 am

Family members play a pivotal role in targeting the school and employment outcomes in early intervention with transitional age youth with mental health challenges. However, providers frequently confront family-based barriers like complex family dynamics, stigmatizing attitudes, discouraging messages, family stress, and communication restrictions between families and providers. This interactive workshop will provide training on culturally grounded strengths-based approaches to address common barriers to family engagement. This workshop will focus on developing strategies and skills through small and large group experiential activities.
