Among individuals in recovery, the most common debilitating illnesses are preventable and treatable conditions including cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic, and infectious diseases. This session will report on the most up-to-date aspects of health and wellness among individuals, highlighting  common health risks, strategies to design and implement ongoing health care promotion in key areas, opportunities for prevention of illnesses and their progression, and strategies to improve workforce competencies regarding physical wellness. Presenters will provide tools which can be used to promote wellness and improve health literacy, as well as discuss methods to implement and sustain these services within psychiatric rehabilitation settings.
