World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Holds Conference on Psychosocial Rehabilitation

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (WAPR) endeavors to provide scientific updates to professionals involved in the psychosocial management of mentally ill persons, particularly rehabilitation care. To further this aim and to facilitate discourse in the region of Asia and the Pacific the 5th WAPR Asia Pacific Regional Conference was held at MS Ramaiah Medical College and Hospitals, Bangalore, India.

 

The theme of the conference was “Recovery and Beyond – Issues and Challenges in Asia – Pacific,” aptly chosen to inform on recent trends and advances. Speakers came from various countries and continents, including India, the United States, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya , Ethiopia, UAE, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea,  Australia, and many more. 450 participants attended the conference.

The conference highlighted the beauty of exchanging experiences between people from all over the world, from different team members working in the psychiatric rehabilitation field. Moreover, the experience of using the available facilities in developing countries was amazing. Over 450 participants attended the conference.
