To our Members:
You make a difference.  Every day, every week, every month you work in rehabilitation and recovery roles to help people achieve the recovery outcomes they desire. You do this work because you believe in and witness recovery and wellness as children, youth, and adults grow, learn, love, work, and thrive in their communities.

Over the past several years, there have been numerous reports on the need for core competency training of healthcare providers who work in integrated health care, behavioral health, and recovery oriented systems of care for children, youth and adults.  Just yesterday, Paolo del Vecchio, MSW, Director of the Center for Mental Health Services , Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, wrote about the critical importance of preparing the mental health workforce with the recovery based skills and practice delivery approaches  to operationalize the promise of recovery (March 16, 2015).  As the psychiatric rehabilitation association, we are a committed community of educators, providers, researchers, administrators, and leaders who can accomplish this goal.  In fact, we are accomplishing this goal!

On June 1-4 in Philadelphia, our 2015 Recovery Workforce Summit (in partnership with the Pennsylvania Chapter, PAPRS) proudly invites you to nourish your passion and your practices related to recovery, rehabilitation, wellness, and resiliency.   We have planned an exciting three days that will offer you opportunities to be inspired, learn new skills and information, be challenged and grow, and connect with like-minded colleagues from around the world.  This Summit will engage you in authentic, meaningful education and dialogue about what really makes a difference in helping children, families, youth, and adults live well and thrive in their roles and communities.  This is your opportunity to enhance and sharpen your skills, advocacy strategies, and recovery knowledge

We will feature the latest recovery innovations, recovery science, recovery leadership and best practices, as well as intensive opportunities to jumpstart your process as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner and Children and Family Resiliency Practitioner.

Invest in yourself, invest in your programs and most importantly, invest in the promise and reality of recovery by coming to our Summit.  I am looking forward to seeing you all there!

With appreciation,

Dori
